Upon viewing this session, you will be able to distinguish the need for oral or intravenous iron for the treatment of iron deficiency, recognize and interpret the available IV iron formulations, differentiate the symptoms associated with minor infusion reactions with IV iron and the rare symptoms of severe hypersensitivity which can lead to anaphylaxis, and identify evidence-based treatment approaches with iron supplementation in specific conditions associated with iron lack.
